About Another Stab Entertainment

I grew up in a very specific Spider-Man era: I had the rare experience of “growing up with” multiple live-action Peters, rather than inheriting only one. Tobey was my entry point, Andrew arrived as I was changing, and Tom landed close enough to my real age that the character stopped feeling like a legend and started feeling like a peer. That timing mattered because I also grew up fast, emotionally. Not entirely in a tragic way, but fast enough that I was always looking for stories where heroes were allowed to mature without being punished for it.

Rewatching the films and the wider Spider-Man catalogue, I kept noticing a pattern: Peter is constantly reset. He wins a lesson, and the next story takes it back. Then I found Amazing Spider-Man: Renew Your Vows and it genuinely shifted how I understood the character. A Spider-Man who gets to grow, love, fail, and keep going as a husband and father. Digging deeper into other “older Peter” lines (including MC2 and newer reinventions), I realised the most emotionally potent Spider-Man stories are often the ones the genre is hesitant to foreground: parenthood, co-parenting, the ache of responsibility when the mask is no longer an escape.

That is why this project exists. When it became clear that a truly authentic, Raimi-feeling Spider-Man story about fatherhood was unlikely to happen in the industry (at least in a form I could recognise) I chose to make the version I needed, for the audience I know exists. Not for Hollywood. Not for a broad four-quadrant mandate. For Raimi-era fans, for parents, and for the younger version of me who needed a hero allowed to move forward. In that sense, this Spider-Man 4 means everything.
