@adeptusvoxJust a silly little guy, doing silly little voices.
From player to dm to va, t's one heck of a slippery slope.
People get into this thing in lots of different ways. For me, it was stumbling upon the 1977 BBC adaptation of the Foundation series and the 1986 NPR adaption of A Canticle for Leibowitz.
These two completely opposite works, at least as far as acting and sound design go, hit me like a ton of bricks.
I'd always felt what Alan Moore said about words BEING magic is true, but these renditions of those two magnificent books made me FEEL it.
And I thought it'd be rather neat if I could do something like that.
About my setups: There's two of 'em
1) My daily workhorse, so to speak:
A Behringer C1-U, and a laptop with Audacity and Reaper in a dedicated and decently insulated room.
2)Six-Audio Records' Studio:
For more discerning projects I do have access to a full recording studio with analog and digital equipment, but that comes with its own costs and time constraints.
-Since for now this is a hobby to me, if I've applied to your project, it's because I genuinely care to be a part of it. There are people out there with some pretty neat ideas. -
Thematically, I'm super into sci-fi, fantasy, cosmic horror, detective stories, and such.
Far as formats go: Narrations and acting are both cool, corporate & advertising stuff not so much.
And personally, I'm particularly interested in anything: Fallout, The Elder Scrolls, Warhammer;and so on.
