Andy Whinnie
@Andy-WhinnieHey! I'm Andy, I'm a 22 year old, queer man, based in Charlotte, North Carolina. By day I work as an ordinary tattoo artist, but at night I pull out my microphone, becoming my voice acting alter ego (the name is still in the works).
I started my acting career when I was eight years old in a community stage production of Alice in Wonderland, since then, I knew entertaining was in my blood. I continued in community theatre up through Highschool, participating in as many classes and workshops I could along the way. My most memorable performance during this time was a production of Shakespeare’s ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’. I was also part of the Carolina Renaissance Festival cast for 5 years, this helped me hone in on my character work and improv skills. From there I eventually expanded to modeling and film work. This is when I found my acting coach, Pat Dortch, owner of Dortch Acting Studio in Charlotte, NC. I studied under him for two years, where I received both group and individual film and television training.
Characters I have enjoyed playing the most in the past are the ones on the more dramatic side, and very likely have a few screws rattling around up there. The hopeless romantics, gone maybe a little too far. I love giving an emotional performance, but also know when some things need to be dialed back.
Thank you for checking out my profile!!
