Looking For A Similar Or Compatible Voice For Potential Long Term Audio Drama Projects. PAID
Joshua Nicholson for William Branham- Potential Long Term Job- Storytelling/Acting
I am the producer at Lifeline Audio we are a religious media company.
We are wanting to produce dramas about the life experiences of Rev. William Branham. He was a worldwide evangelist in the 1930's-1960's.
To give a little background William Branham was born in Kentucky in 1909, his English was very simple and slightly southern sounding.
The role would be religious in nature and would vary from going on a sick call to pray for someone's healing, to a hunting adventure in Africa, so there is a huge variety of stories that may be produced.
Due to the variety of stories that we wish to produce we are looking for an actor that has the ability to portray all facets of emotions in a realistic and believable manner, whether it be an emotional moment of losing his wife and child, to stern authoritative speaking or sweetly comforting someone.
Of course, audio quality is a must as well as being able to take direction.
We are still in the early stages but wanted to secure a voice once the project launches.
Below is a recording of his voice, we are looking for something similar or as close as we can find.
Recording of Rev. Branham telling a story of getting lost in the mountains while hunting (this is one of the projects we wish to produce:: https://www.dropbox.com/s/hlhe3wq54k10cd9/Huricane%20Mountian.m4a?dl=0
This clip of Rev. Branham is from a sermon he preached and is for a reference to his voice and style of speaking. But the pace for the auditions is up to the actor. It doesn't necessarily have to match the pace of the sermon. Think of telling the story or reenacting it. Adlib is fine too.
This is a Paid role and we can negotiate the price per episode due to the varying lengths of scripts. I would say the starting rate is around 100.00 (An Estimate)
(storytelling/acting)
And I went up along, going up a little branch like this, going along. I kept walking, walking. I thought, “Well, say, I ought to be getting up towards the place to turn off in a few moments.” And I happened to look up and I was right back at my deer again. Well, I thought, “How did I miss that?” I kept walking again and walked about thirty or forty minutes and I was right back at my deer again.
(Storytelling/Acting) (desperation prayer)
And you don’t know what a feeling it is, till you are lost one time. And I said, “Oh, I’m lost, Father. I know I’m going wrong. I don’t know which a way to turn. And there’s only one way I know to turn, that’s heavenly, and look to You, Lord, and ask You to help me get out of here. I’m not worthy that I should live; but my baby and my wife, I want them to live, Lord.”
(Praying for a dying boy)
I put my hand over on his feet. I said, “Lord, I don’t know why I was led down here, but maybe this is the place. I can’t understand, but I pray that You’ll help this poor dear saint of Yours who stood faithfully.” Her back was wet with dew where she’d been standing through the night, the early morning. And I said, “Help her and spare the life of this poor boy.”
Thank you for your audition.
In doing research before auditioning, I downloaded the app the listened to some of the stuff you have on offer and realized that I'd actually auditioned for the audiobook about his life, too! He was a fascinating guy.
Wow, what a small world. Yes, he has an amazing life story and was a man of God. Im sorry I didn't answer your question from before. As far as editing, I dont mind some basic noise reduction but nothing too heavy. We are still in the planning stages but as far as I know, it will be a little of both. Some storytelling than some first-person re-enactments/ drama's... Thanks again!
