Maelyn is a haughty and self-satisfied character who has a very superior attitude about him. He's snarky, self-aggrandizing and has an incredibly biting wit. The type of person who will insult you directly. He was raised as the ward of the King and had to suffer many slights and insults at the hand of the nobility. Despite this he carries himself as if his self-confidence was a shield and is quick to challenge anyone who would try to put him down.
I'm quite aware of my appearance, my lord. The traditionalists in the court have been quite vocal about their distaste for those of us who developed a little more... feminine than they think a proper man ought to be. I've suffered the ill judgement of the aristocracy my entire life, so this is nothing new to me. But you will forgive me if I'm not all that broken up about it. You see I don't actually give a damn what you or your fellow lords think of me. You can joke, you can snicker, and call me names. You can disparage me and call me 'Dame' and 'Lady' behind my back. I'm not ashamed. I'm beautiful... I am also the right hand of the Raven Prince and a sworn Knight of the Sacred Order. 'I' am the authority here and not you. Forget it again and I'll be more than happy to draw my sword and remind you!
What a pitiful display. Is that all you're worth. It seems they don't make villains of the same cloth as they used to. You're an embarrassment, sir. Perhaps you can do us all a favor and cut yourself down for me, save me the trouble.
Quite a great deal has been made about me hasn't it. I understand, I'm a little overwhelmed when I look at me sometimes too. The beauty, the grace, the perfectly proportioned body. I dare say I'm the goddess' work art. It's quite exhausting you know, being desired by both men and women alike. But then again, a homely fellow like yourself would never know my struggle. I couldn't possibly imagine what it would be like to look so painfully average.
If you can take a little bass out your voice, just slightly more feminine without ruining what else is good in this read I think you have it. Please give another audition and keep that in mind.
