He was forced into overseeing the take over of the region as a punishment for a hate crime that his son supposedly committed. It's an unfair punishment to be sure, and he's trying to do the best he can in the situation that's befallen him. However, things in the canyon lands are very rough, and the Elders have lost faith in him as he loses more and more soldiers and outposts everyday.
Erickson is a man based on Honor and Pride, and with both things so diminished and with the impending execution of his son, it's fair to say that a heavy toll has been placed upon him. I'm not really looking for any specific voice, so feel free to experiment.
You've done a good job supporting this garrison. I expect that if you were a member of this garrison, I'd be placed in a higher regard with the elders instead of being looked down upon. You see, the fact that you've done so much for us, and have no real affiliation within our ranks, well... The elders see this as a threat. Or at least, that's what they claim. Personally, I think they just don't want locals making us look bad. But after all they've done for me, I couldn't give two shits anymore.
