Magus Elgar: The Stories In Between (Free Audio Podcast between Season One and Two)
germophobe for Wizard Zale
Wizards are on the opposite end of the spectum of Sorcerers. Wizard Zale is a recluse, Hoarding knowledge and stuffing away books and papers anywhere they can put them within their home. Zale is hasty, distracted, and the entire conversation takes place while they're dealing with more pressing matters. Despite that, the moment Magus Tenthorn pokes a hole in their reasoning, Wizard Zale is extremely quick to toss any and every excuse out in order to get out of the lie.
Once again. like Sorcerer Kantobar, this character is very open. Wizards may have the big flowing white beards, but there's no reason they have to be male!
ZALE
Okay but the last time I followed a
disembodied voice It immediately
followed a two week gap in my
memory! When we try to channel magic, the
elemetns don’t even SEE us. Or at
least.. They don’t take us
seriously enough to actually do
anything about it. Here. Listen.
Parte Fulminis (lightning)
*Fart noise.*
ZALE (CONT’D)
Hear that? That was supposed to be
lightning, but the elements just
fart at me!
ZALE
That would be my landlord. I may
have to cut this short. For a
trolltaur with filed down horns he(yelling down the hall)
sure likes to gouge me!
You have a great voice, but you're speaking far too fast and far too even. It sounds like a professional audiobook playing back at 2X speed. take a moment, slide into the head space. and don't be afraid to be sillier than you think is necessary.
Thanks for the feedback! I took "hasty and distracted" to mean he was talking fast to try to get through the situation he's in - I'll keep this in mind next time!
For the direction, Think less like he's rushing through the conversation and more like he's packing for a trip or working on an experiment while he's talking to Serling. "yes yes, I know you're here to talk to me but I'm far too busy, let's get this over with."
Ahh, okay. I think I understand! Would you be opposed to me submitting a second audition?
