Charlie grew up in a low-income family. In order to help provide for his family, he played jazz music on the streets. He had no background in the art, but his Dad owned a Saxophone and a drum set, so Charlie decided to wing it. He was not good at first, but the more he played the better he got and the more he loved the music. He was able to accumulate a good amount of money from playing on the streets and soon a talent agency scouted him to record songs. His songs gained popularity very quickly, leading him to big performances. As a result, his role of Ultimate Jazz Musician came to be. His success helped his family out of poverty. He uses most of his performance earnings to help other low-income families. He has mixed ethnicity due to his white father and black mother, and he is very proud of his heritage.
Lines: Charlie should have a very smooth medium to low range. If you can finesse a cajun accent for him, that’d be awesome. A similar voice would be Dr. Facilier from The Princess and the Frog. Cajun French words and phrases are in asterisks.
(Casual) “*Ça va?* How are you? The name’s Charlie Beaudoin, also known as the Ultimate Jazz Musician.”
(Nervous then relieved) “Kill someone? No one here would actually do that right? … Ah. *Ça c’est bon.* That’s good…”
(Encouraging) “Hey, guys! I know we’re all sad after that trial but we can’t let it get to us! I made us some *beignets* to cheer us up! As they say down in N’awlins, *‘Laissez les bon temps rouler!’*… It means, Let the good times roll!”
(Happy) “*Coo-Wee!* Look at that! Thank you *Cher!*”
(Defensive) “Hey hey hey! Just cause I’ve seen murder before ain’t mean I am a murderer. What kinda accusation is that?”
