""The raw strength of youth might be spent... but his eyes hold the secret of a hundred campaigns."

A veteran of many wars, the Man-at-Arms is a bastion of physical as well as emotional strength to the group. He's come to the hamlet as a means of finding purpose in protecting others again, as a failure of his previous command led to the many deaths of his allies.

The Man-at-Arms is a focused and expertly resolute man that weighs the consequences of his choices carefully. He's got a plan for nearly every occasion and wishes to do well by his new companions; yet fears that it may all be for naught in the end.

I think the second one works better, if only because the natural bias of mine to favor an more elderly voice for this character. Speaking of elderly voice, it is a very well executed voice with your pitch reaching low enough to support your commanding tone. This more elderly voice actually comes off as more commanding through that experienced tone you're giving here. In my opinion, experience in probably more commanding in war at this time period because veterans of as many battles as this character have presence just on their own merit. This shows itself well as your delivery carries just that much more weight with your voice leading it, showing us emotional balance of command as well as the imbalance of abuse through your tone.
