Phantom of the Opera- inspired audioplay
TobiasDuncan for Erik - the Phantom
An intimidating masked man with an unearthly beautiful voice.
Erik is normally apathetic, but can change suddenly. All of his emotions are extremes; he has no middle ground. Anger becomes overwhelming fury, and sadness results in pitiful moans of agony.
I'm looking for an older sounding voice with an excellent range of emotions; screaming, sobbing, utter apathy.
(All-Encompassing roaring rage. Ranting. Christine has removed his mask.)
I'm sure you're happy now, Christine. You will never forget this
face, will you? You never will be able to! You will see it every day for the
rest of your life! And then it will haunt every one of your dreams! A corpse
loves you, my dear, and will never leave you!(Calm. Commanding. During a voice lesson)
Stop. You need to open your mouth wider and let the sound emerge. Do not
try to force vibrato. It will come out naturally. Again, from the beginning.(Delusional,
Desperation, Staccato. He is having trouble keeping his mind together while
maintaining a facade of calm)
After her
guardian is buried, she will return. And we will live in peace where no one
will harm us. Because she is all that I need, Nadir! Nothing else! Yes. She
will return. (A short pause. A flair of anger) No matter what the boy tells
her.(An adoring whisper)
I would
give you anything, Christine. Anything. It ends now. You see...the finale came
tonight, after all. And what a glorious finale it was...I...(A shaky inhale) I
love you, Christine. I love you.
