Class 7 Homework Assignment Mrs. Mary Nillimore
TauGames for Voice Actor
3 auditions per day
200 doggy pants per day: it has now been 6 weeks since we introduced this exercise to you all. For those of you who are getting use to 200 and can do them comfortably in 1 sitting, I recommend aiming for 400 at this point. Either way it's time to start creating an exercise regime.
Monologue: Going forward, I will be listening to not just your vocal techniques but also bits about your acting as well. I encourage you all to be reading this week's monologue while moving your hands. If you are able to watch yourself in the mirror, pay attention to see if you are repeating the same hand gestures over and over again; or perhaps, you find yourself nodding to a particular rhythm; or maybe your hand movements aren't synchronized to your speech sometimes. This will teach you a lot about the way you act and show you some habits that you never knew you had in your acting.
Say something you think would fit
Wow love your story teller voice. Very impacting. Less is more with you is a great place, however we still need a bit more projection at this stage. I love this for an audiobook read. You are a natural storyteller, and with some more training, will do well in this area. I would like to suggest just more projection and round your mouth more for more clear articulation. It's not that your articulation is suffering - it's good, it's just we want you to have strong articulation and projection at this stage as well. So just adding those two elements and that would be just where you need to be. Good work
Thanks Deb! I've been trying to figure out how to project more in a situation like this, without coming across like i'm shouting at the audience.
