Class A Week 7 Homework Submission
JasonVA141 for Mrs. Mary Nilimore
Homework:
3 auditions per day
200 doggy pants per day: it has now been 6 weeks since we introduced this exercise to you all. For those of you who are getting use to 200 and can do them comfortably in 1 sitting, I recommend aiming for 400 at this point.
Monologue: Going forward, I will be listening to not just your vocal techniques but also bits about your acting as well. I encourage you all to be reading this week's monologue while moving your hands. If you are able to watch yourself in the mirror, pay attention to see if you are repeating the same hand gestures over and over again; or perhaps, you find yourself nodding to a particular rhythm; or maybe your hand movements aren't synchronized to your speech sometimes. This will teach you a lot about the way you act and show you some habits that you never knew you had in your acting.
Please give at least 1 feedback to a fellow class mate who has note received a feedback yet.
Have fun!
An early submission, great on you for staying on top of things! This was a very theatrical delivery. I imagined that you moved your hands quite much on various words you chose to highlight. You had great engagement in this and I could hear just how much you treasured those macaroons. However, if this was intended to be a more theatrical read, it would need much more projection. As such, it sounded a little too dramatic for It to stand as a genuine character read for VO and a little soft to be a full theatrical performance. Also, be careful to not let your performance get in the way of your breath control. As you add more and more intensity into the emotions you convey, you will quickly find that it will take a lot more air. As a last little note: the word - Nil"i"more as an i. The "i" would make it be pronounced as Ni-li-more.
