Haneul is a texas born teenager who used to be a bully during   the 5th grade, beating his own classmates for enjoyment, fat-shaming other kids, and even making fun of the special ed kids. Haneul later ended his bullying on the last day of his 8th grade year, when one of his bully victims opened fired on herself in the school he went to, which mentally scarred Haneul in the process, causing him to realize the damage he caused to every kid he had ever bullied in that school. 2 years went by, he's a completely different person than he was, the memory of that day still haunts him, however.
Haneul is still on his personal quest to make amends for his mistakes, which caused the end of someone's life. in the time he moved from Midland, Texas to Vernon, Oregon, he became close with 4 new friends; Lance Thompson, Minuk Choi, Wyatt Doe, and Mason Hernandez. unfortunately however, their friendship was short lived, when they all attended a party. all got drunk except for Haneul, who hated alchohol. after the party, they got back in the car that Lance had borrowed, and drove off. moments later, 911 was called because a car had suffered a fatal head-on collision with a tree, which killed 4 people, but only injured one; Haneul, who survived thanks to the airbag that deployed. lance flew out the windshield, Minuk was instantly killed when a huge shard from the windshield flew through his forhead, Wyatt bled out on the way to the hospital, and Mason was split in the half at the ribcage in the passenger's seat. due to the psychological damage that Haneul was suffering, he had to be placed in a mental institution until 1 year later, he made a full recovery, and is currently living a much better life, however, he still thinks about that night, as well as what he could've done to change that night, so that they could still be here. To top his bad luck, he also lost his grandfather, who was the only family member he had left, to a heart attack just 2 months before Haneul was released, making the warden of the institution remark "he lost all of his close friends before his eyes, and then lost his grandfather while recovering from the deaths of his friends. How long do you think the poor boy will go before he loses his mind again, and decides that suicide is his best option?"

character desc; Haneul Ryder is usually laid-back, will get angry and aggressive depending on his situation, and despite his past, he's very protective of bully victims, known to fight for those who can't defend themselves. on good days, he's relaxed and joyful, however he's not the best at showing it.
