Red's attitude starts out flippant and uncaring, but as time progresses and she falls in love, she turns more considerate and nurturing. That's what her tone of voice should represent. 

Red is a cheerleader, she doesn't care for music unless she can jam to it with her girls. But she is impressed when she sees someone who can sing well.
