Most say the Doom of Valyria was a catastrophic disaster caused by the fact it was quite literally built on volcanoes, fourteen to be exact. Surely they had to erupt at some point. Now, why all at the same time, no one can say for sure. But there are whispers in the dark of the real reason the doom of Valyria happened. The land that the Targaryens claim so proudly, what if it was them who actually destroyed it. 

Valryia was a place of ancient wisdom, knowledge, and power. Every regal dragon...lost. The fourteen fires still go on today, of course not all at the same time. Sailors say they can see the glow, but none dare venture near the treasures of old Valyria.
