LOVE: An Undertale Series (Voice Actors)

**NOTE** This character may not appear in the series until much later, so you may not have any lines for a long time, aside from comic dubs and other possible voicing projects
Short Bio:
Asriel is the sweet and docile child of Asgore and Toriel, and a monster sibling to the human child Chara. Not much is known about Asriel before his time as Flowey, but from what we gather through brief interactions, his true nature is a lover, not a fighter. Asriel is filled with immense compassion and empathy for both humans and monsters, and he has a deep love for Chara. Their death has severely affected both him and his parents, but it was Chara's death that helped Asriel find the courage to cross the barrier with their souls together. However, during his time as Flowey, Asriel ended up taking the souls of all monsters in the underground, in addition to the six human souls, turning into a terrifying God of Hyperdeath. In the end, thanks to Frisk’s kindness, Asriel eventually succeeded in freeing the underground. Unfortunately, while the other monsters have gone free to live their lives on the surface, Asriel was unwillingly left behind to once again turn back into the flower and (seemingly) live the rest of their days in solitude with no one to love or to be loved. Much of his role in the Undertale series LOVE is still a mystery, but he will be an important character for the animated series, as he was in the game.
What We Are Looking For:
First and foremost, please do the best that you can with your Asriel voice. Do not stress yourself out into doing something that isn't comfortable in your vocal range.
We are currently considering two possible voices for Asriel, but that is still up in the air for right now. Asriel definitely needs to have a voice in the pre-teen range, but we may also be looking for an older voice in the late teen range. So for this casting call, there will be 2 sets of dialogue you can choose from for these particular voices we are looking for. This is a very interesting character for you to play around with. For this pre-teen voice, we are looking for him to be calm and not very assertive in his tone, along with a very melancholic attitude towards many things. His voice should be that of someone who is supportive of their friends yet is someone who is also suffering internally. When recording, certain lines need to be read as if his sufferings have reaching a breaking point and he can’t keep his feelings inside any longer. For the late-teens voice, we are looking for someone more forward and confident, while still a bit cocky. Kind of giving off an “edgy teen” sort of vibe (so to speak). We don't have much to go off of this character, so this really depends on your delivery and whether or not your voice seems to fit this character.
Also please keep in mind that with either voice, this is a character whose compassion and joy have been nearly non-existent for quite some time. Being able to finally express that near the end of the game seems like something that’s both refreshing and overwhelming for this character. And maybe even a little bit unstable. Something to think about before auditioning.
To help you better judge the lines for the character, here are a list of some positive and negative traits that Asriel will have in our series. It's pretty self-explanatory, but I think having a list still proves helpful for our current voice actors.
**Please note that we do not have character traits for Asriel as a teen. Just as a pre-teen. So you’ll have to be a bit more creative on your end if you’re going for that route. Our apologies.

About the Lines
All lines are dialogue pieces from the game. Upper dialogue is pre-teen Asriel. Lower dialogue is teen Asriel. Due to the length of these lines, it really isn’t required that you read them multiple times. You are free to do pre-teen Asriel, late-teen Asriel, or any combination of both. Please do lines 1-3 when submitting.
Line 1: The pre-teen lines are taken from Asriel's conversation with Frisk after their battle. The late-teen lines are from Asriel's final form. With these pieces of dialogue, there are no real directions. Just give us your best shot without having been given any direction. Keep in mind the expectations/requirements listed above!
Line 2: The pre-teen lines are from when Asriel receives forgiveness from Frisk. The late-teen lines are from when Asriel first turned into the God of Hyperdeath. These pieces of dialogue can be found once again in the game. Only difference this time is that the producer/director has put a little more direction for you. If chosen, you’ll be reading your lines from script that will mostly look like this. You must follow the instructions given to you. So have fun with this one! Again, do your best, and keep in mind the expectation requirements as listed above!
Line 3: The pre-teen lines are from when Asriel tells Frisk to go back to their friends. The late-teen lines are from when Asriel (in his final form) confesses about his loneliness and his desire to see Chara again. These pieces of dialogue are once again from the game, but it has been slightly re-imagined in order to fit a script format. This is so you can have an idea of what to expect when voicing for us. Due to the Casting Call Club suddenly changing their formats, we have had to adjust the layout of this particular line set. Please check the other main characters on this casting call to see what our format will actually look like. Asriel's name is boldened for each line in this particular script. There will also be cues much like from the previous lines that must be followed. However, please pay attention to the actions and descriptions listed in the parentheses as well. They may contain important actions from the characters that cannot simply be expressed in the dialogue lines themselves, so be careful not to miss that. Again, do your best and keep in mind the expectations/requirements as listed above!
PRE-TEEN ASRIEL
Frisk… this whole time, I’ve blamed myself for that decision. That’s why I adopted that horrible view of the world. “Kill or be killed.” But now… after meeting you… Frisk, I don’t regret that decision anymore. I did the right thing. If I killed those humans… we would have had to wage war against all of humanity. And in the end, everyone went free, right? I still feel kind of sad knowing how long it took…so maybe it wasn’t a perfect decision. But you can’t regret hard choices your whole life, right? Well, not that I have much of a life left. But that’s besides the point.
Frisk, thank you for listening to me. You should really go be with your friends now, okay? Oh and please, in the future, if you uhh, see me… don’t think of it as me, okay? I just want you to remember me like this. Someone that was your friend for a little while. Oh, and Frisk… be careful in the outside world, okay? Despite what everyone thinks, it’s not as nice as it is here. There are a lot of Floweys out there. And not everything can be resolved by just being nice. Frisk… don’t kill, and don’t be killed, alright? That’s the best you can strive for.
LATE TEEN ASRIEL
Behold my TRUE power! I can feel it… Every time you die, your grip on this world slips away. Every time you die, your friends forget you a little more. Your life will end here, in a world where no one remembers you…
Still… you’re hanging on…? That’s fine. In a few moments, you’ll forget everything, too. That attitude will serve you well in your next life! Uraa hahaha! …what? Still? Come on! Show me what good your DETERMINATION is now!
PRE-TEEN ASRIEL
(slowly and hesitantly) I wish I could tell you how everyone feels about you, Frisk. *smiles sympathetically* Papyrus… Sans… Undyne… Alphys… *a cautious pause* Toriel. *a much longer pause, then sudden laughter* (confidently) Monsters are weird. Even though they barely know you… It feels like they all really love you. *laughs genuinely but then the laughter suddenly changes into something very sad*
*sighs deeply* Frisk… I… *a long pause* I understand if you can’t forgive me. *looks down to the floor* (bitterly) I understand if you hate me. I acted so strange and horrible. *clenches fists* I hurt you. (guilt-ridden tone) I hurt so many people. Friends, family, bystanders… (holding back tears) There’s no excuse for what I’ve done.
<3 FORGIVE DO NOT
*slowly raises up head* (in disbelief) Wh… what? *sniffs a bit* (playfully) Frisk, come on. You’re… *another sniff* you’re gonna make me cry again. *small chuckle* Besides, even if you do forgive me… (seriously) I can’t keep these souls inside of me. The least I can do is return them. But first… *a confident smile* there’s something I have to do.
LATE TEEN ASRIEL
*chuckles ominously* You know… *raises arms and shakes head* (matter-of-factly) I don’t care about destroying this world anymore. After I defeat you and gain total control over the timeline… *clenches fists* (coldly) I just want to reset everything. All your progress… everyone’s memories. (shouting) I’ll bring them all back to zero! *sly smirk* Then we can do everything ALL over again. *small chuckle turns into full laughter* And you know what the best part of all this is? *points to Frisk* You’ll DO it. And then you’ll lose to me again. (steadily growing louder) And again. And again!! (accusatory tone) Because you want a “happy ending.” (mocking) Because you “love your friends.” Because you “never give up.” *cackles* Isn’t that delicious? (coldly) Your “determination.” The power that let you get this far… It’s gonna be your downfall! (gradually grows louder) Now, ENOUGH messing around! *growls* It’s time to purge this timeline once and for all!
PRE-TEEN ASRIEL
(Slowly, Asriel floats down to the ground, his feet gently touching the floor. He looks back at Frisk, with a somewhat melancholy expression. Their eyes dart to the floor, not wanting to make eye contact with the fallen human)
Asriel: Frisk… I have to go now.
(He raises his arms and looks down on them as if searching for an answer. Sadly, he can find none)
Asriel: Without the power of everyone’s souls… *clenches fists* I can’t keep maintaining this form. In a little while, I’ll turn back into a flower. *looks up at Frisk* (voice is breaking) I’ll stop being “myself.” *breathes a bit heavier* (upset) I’ll stop being able to feel love again.
(Almost instinctively, Asriel takes a few steps back from Frisk. He then folds his arms across his chest. Slowly his head lowers, struggling to hold back tears)
Asriel: *breathes slowly* So… Frisk. (defeated) It’s best if you just forget about me, okay? Just… *he stares hard at the ground and tears are welling up in his eyes* (voice steadily breaking) Just go be with the people who love you…
(Asriel’s breath begins to hitch as he struggles to hold back his tears, but it’s clear that he’s failing. However, before he can break down, Asriel gasps when he suddenly feels two tiny arms wrapping around him. Asriel’s breath hitches more and more as he slowly raises one arm to meet Frisk’s. He then lowers his head into the crook of Frisk’s neck and sobs quietly. Frisk gives a gentle and friendly tap, not letting go until Asriel is ready to calm down)
Asriel: *laughs very weakly* (quietly and desperately) I don’t want to let go… *sniffles*
(After some time, Frisk and Asriel finally separate. Asriel’s eyes are still glued to the floor as they wipe their tears away. After they calm down for a moment, they lift up their head)
Asriel: (touched) Frisk… you’re… *shakes his head* (happily) You’re going to do a great job, okay? No matter what you do. Everyone will be there for you, okay? *closes eyes and smiles*
(Slowly, Asriel turns and faces an unknown distance and lets out a pained sigh)
Asriel: (sadly) Well… my time’s running out. *turns to Frisk* Goodbye
(Asriel waves his hand to Frisk before take a few steps away from them. Then suddenly, as if they almost forgot something, they turned back to face Frisk)
Asriel: By the way… *a short pause* (pleading) Frisk… take care of Mom and Dad for me, okay?
LATE-TEEN ASRIEL
Asriel: …Chara… *looks at Frisk* Do you know why I’m doing this…? (desperately) Why I keep fighting to keep you around…? I’m doing this… *breathes heavily* because you’re special, Chara. (sadly) You’re the only one who’s any fun to play with anymore.
(Frisk makes yet another attempt to reach for Asriel, using what little power they have left to touch their SOUL. Suddenly, Asriel fidgets and moves away)
Asriel: *breath hitches* …No… *shakes head* That’s not JUST it. I… I…
(Again, Frisk attempts to reach Asriel’s SOUL while he’s distracted. They nearly reach it before Asriel notices and launches another attack. Quickly, Frisk raises their arms in defense, only to be knocked backwards a little bit. Frisk staggers a bit as they look back out to Asriel)
Asriel: (pleading) I’m doing this because I care about you, Chara! I care about you more than anybody else!
(Slowly, Frisk walks towards Asriel, but with each step forward, Asriel takes one backwards)
Asriel: (distraught) I’m not ready to say goodbye to someone like you again… *slow, heavy panting* So please…
(Suddenly, Asriel stops dead in his tracks as a strange light begins to glow from his hands. Frisk notices but continues to move forward)
Asriel: *raises his arms* STOP doing this… (desperate shouting) AND JUST LET ME WIN!!
(He lets out a scream as a bright white light escapes from his hands, launching an attack straight towards Frisk. The small human raises their arms in defense but is caught straight on in the blast. Their feet slide down into the ground as Frisk wavers their stance. Slowly but surely, they find the determination and strength to take small yet sturdy steps forward towards Asriel)
Asriel: *shaking his head back and forth* (stillshouting) NO!! STOP IT!! STOP IT NOW!!!
(Frisk slowly continues taking steps towards Asriel, being almost entirely consumed by the blast. The closer Frisk gets to Asriel, the weaker the blast becomes. By the time Frisk is directly in front of Asriel, the blast has completely stopped. Asriel heaves and sighs from exhaustion)
Asriel: *heavy panting* …Chara… (desperate and worried) I’m so alone Chara… (defeated) I’m so afraid…
(Frisk stretches out their arm toward Asriel)
Asriel: *breathing gets heavier and faster* Chara, I… I…
(Finally, Frisk reaches their SOUL)
