We are looking for a black American or British actor to portray this part. The character is black in the comic, so it's essential to us that the actor reflect the original vision.

There are two possible reads we had in mind for this, so feel free to give us takes in one or both styles (or something else if you have another idea).

- Business-like in a professional, corporate way.  Think intonation and speaking style like Cedric Daniels (Lance Reddick's character) from The Wire - he's working his way up the ladder and willing to crush anyone in it who gets in his way. You'll see it coming from a mile away, but there isn't anything you can do about because he checkmate'd you weeks ago. Link to example - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eCNLiHmEUxA

- Business-like is a smarmy, slimy way. Think Burke (Paul Reiser's character) from Aliens - this is the kind of guy that smiles and acts like your friend when he's secretly spreading rumors about your incompetence. Link to example - https://youtu.be/nnHmUk_J6xQ?t=36

Try not to fall into a "secret villain" voice.  This guy is a greedy asshole, but isn't necessarily evil.

Piece has 18 lines total, 214 words.

  • (speaking to a Marine Captain) This is a standard compliance investigation.  Worst case, you may need to rattle your saber a little.

  • I rep for Weyland-Yutani, Captain.  I travel.  I see places.  I've known a lot worse than this.  Bunk ships on the far side of Cleo.  Minework build-outs in the cursus.

  • Tartarus and its neighbors are scheduled for terraformation and colonization under W-Y's "New Worlds" initiative.  The colony fleet's about nine months shy of departure.  W-Y is concerned that a rival corporation, possibly Seegson, is employing unlicensed prospectors to asset strip the world before our development division swings in.  We've lodged a formal complaint to the authorities.
