Mirus' matakite [high priest / priestess] and a prophet. They are the nation's highest standing religious figure and the closest consultant of Emperor Lachlan and Empress Ute outside of politics. They have strange and vague visions sent to them by the Deities, hence their ties with Arista becoming synced, and they take the young woman on as their acolyte. believing that she is also a prophet.
They speak in warm, knowing tones, passionate ones when they preach. Keshet is very knowledgeable and mysterious about their inner workings, but they hold honesty and compassion as their highest virtues. Not only do they act as Arista's mentor, but also as a surrogate parent figure.
[Gentle, but inquisitive.] "Curious, indeed. I grant you salutations, little one, please don't be afraid. I had a feeling I would be seeing more of you, Aristaeus. Come here and sit by the fire, you don't need standing there all cold and wet. There has been enough sickness this wet season, you needn't be next. That's a good girl. So tell me, dear one, what brings you to my bungalow? Do you come with questions, or are you simply seeking shelter and company? You look troubled."
[Warmly.] "You are swift in the mind as you are in the body. Artful, crafty huntress of the wood, perhaps you are the one I have been gaining tidings of. Not much information, but the Deities have whispered of someone like you coming. Nothing is quite clear, other than great passion and association with things lesser seen by the masses. Why have you come here, beyond our empire's walls? Something has sent you forth from your humble upbringings."
[Thoughtful.] "The Imperial Majesties call for my word when something is awry and there is no clear explanation. The Deities have no doubt control over us all, whether one is to accept it or not, yet they work in mysterious ways. They beckon to whom grants them most benefit, hence why I became Mirus' matakite. I was...perhaps around your age when they began confiding me. Which makes me wonder...you and I seem to share the same reveries, yes? This has to be a sign, there's no other explanation."
