Role assigned to: Zachary Allen-Thierry

The protagonist was designed to function like a typical visual novel protagonist. He acts blunt and mean towards Sayori, his childhood friend; teases Natsuki, the tsundere; is warm to Yuri, the shy girl; and falters around Monika, the popular girl. According to Dan Salvato, he is deliberately given very little focus.

More specifically, the protagonist is an underachiever, preferring to play video games and watch anime instead of applying himself and having friends. Despite this, when he does interact with others, he tries to be kind and thoughtful. He takes note of how people around him are acting and feeling, although more subtle things may go over his head. He is shown to be clever and observant in Act 1.

He tries his best to help even when he is out of his depth, as seen when he tries to ease Sayori's depression even though he does not understand.

He shows a distaste towards those who are judgmental, shown by a scene in Natsuki's route, and in Yuri's route, he is accepting of Yuri's interest in knives, highlighting an open-minded personality.

The protagonist is true to his word and always attempts to keep his promises; he works harder if he knows people are counting on him.

Although the protagonist's primary interests are self-oriented, he does show a liking towards "cute girls", deciding to join the Literature Club on the basis of cute girls attending.

  • This isn't some game where I can reset and try something different.

  • Whomever I agree with, they'll probably think more highly of me, so of course that's going to be!...

  • [improvise, also include this for the extra lol's; "Doki Doki is not oki doki!"]

Yay! :D still there's a bit background hum but it's good quality enough! :D

Apologies, I wasn't aware of that background noise, I'll see if I can find the cause.

      probably just computer hum :3

After investigating, it appears to be down to my Behringer XENYX802 mixer board... If I set any gain knob higher than 0 it generates enough noise to show up on the monitor in Audacity, even with no mic plugged in. This could either be an issue with the mixer itself generating noise *or* the soundcard in my computer not having proper line isolation. The only way to test further would be to get a new sound card, so I guess I'll shop around on Amazon.

damn sorry to hear that bro... I always hate it when you have to get another piece of equipment just to get rid of minor issue. But if that doesn't help then I can always edit the background noises away myself. Well, mostly.

I uploaded another audition with different mixer settings... I couldn't figure out how to do it as a reply to this one though, so if that was an option; sorry. Using Audacity I can remove the background hum completely (see demo reel) but I imagine most producers want raw files, so I'll continue working towards the cleanest sounding raws I can produce.

I noticed your new audition and it's much, much more clearer. I couldn't even hear the hums this time.
