Hm… You know, one summer, when I was spending my holidays with my dad, he was studying minerals, and I would wander around in the forest imagining that I was Mary Anning…I pretended that I was also looking for dinosaur bones just like she would when she walked along the Dorset coast. Not only did she find the fossils of dinosaurs like ichthyosaur and plesiosaur, but her work also helped scientists make a lot of progress in studying prehistoric animals. And this was in the 19th century! Even though I’ve always been more interested in plants than minerals and fossils, I still strive to make my own contributions to science, just as Mary did.

We’ve only mentioned five female role models!… But there are so many more! Here’s a shout out to all women and a thank you for all that they do! Happy International Women’s Day!
