Short Bio:
Sans is the lazy protagonist and potential duncle-figure to Frisk. His overall character arc is extremely mysterious, having been possibly involved with Gaster and Alphy's experiments in the Underground. Not much about him has changed since then, but he is a lot more at ease, given the fact that everyone has been existing peacefully for quite some time on the surface. He is extremely laid back and passive about a lot of things, sometimes appearing nonchalant or indifferent to a lot of people. But to his friends, they know deep down that he means well and would defend his friends for... well, actually he'd much prefer someone else to take care of it

What We Are Looking For:
First and foremost, please do the best that you can with your Sans voice. Do not stress yourself out into doing something that isn't comfortable in your vocal range. While we would like our Sans to have a bit of a lower voice (so as to match the sound from his speech pattern in the game ),  we are also open to something unconventional. If you choose to do a lower voice for Sans, you must produce the right emotion and personality. A low voice alone will not get you chosen. 
Other things to consider is a friendly and playful voice for Sans. We don't want him to have a flat tone (unless a specific scene calls for it)
To help you better judge the lines for the character, here are a list of some positive and negative traits. It's pretty self-explanatory, but I think having a list still proves helpful for our current voice actors.

About the Lines

LIne 1: These are several lines taken from the game. There are no real directions for this line. Just give us your best shot without having been given any direction. Keep in mind the expectations/requirements listed above! 

Line 2: You have two choices from this dialogue. One is prior to the fight in the genocide run, and the other is part of the fighting dialogue. The only difference between these and the first line is that the producer/director has put a little more direction for you. If chosen, you'll be reading your lines from a script that will mostly look like this. You must follow the instructions given to you. So have fun with this one! Again, do your best, and keep in mind the expectations/requirements as listed above!

Line 3: This is an excerpt of what a script would look like, should you be chosen for this character. This excerpt is from our first actual episode, and was written by the lead writer herself. All scripts will be following this format. You are more than welcome to voice all the characters listed in this particular line, but it is not necessary. Sans' lines are all highlighted in this script, so that is what we want read and submitted to us. Also, please pay close attention to the actions listed in parentheses, as well as the tone of voice for the character. Those are just as important as the dialogue itself. Please don't forget them! Again, do your best and keep in mind the expectations/requirements as listed above!

  • We kept telling each other jokes for hours. Eventually, I had to leave. Papyrus gets kind of cranky without his bedtime story. But she told me to come by again, and so I did. Then I did again. And again. It's a thing now. Telling bad jokes through the door. It rules. One day, though, I noticed she wasn't laughing very much. I asked her what was up. Then she told me something strange. "If a human ever comes through this door... watch over them and protect them, will you not?" Now, I hate making promises. And this woman, I don't even know her name. But... someone who sincerely likes bad jokes... has an integrity you can't say "no" to. Do you get what I'm saying? That promise I made to her... you know what would have happened if she hadn't said anything?...buddy.... Y o u ' d   b e   d e a d   w h e r e   y o u   s t a n d

  • *raises a hand and waves* Heya. (sarcastically) You've been busy, huh? *chuckles* So I've got a question for ya. (sternly) Do you think even the worst person can change...? That everyone can be a good person, if they just try? *a long pause* *unsettling chuckles* *sighs* All right. Well, here's a better question. (angrily) Do you wanna have a bad time? Cause if you take another step forward... you are REALLY not going to like what happens next. *a long pause* *defeated sigh* Welp. *shrugs* (nonchalant) Sorry, old lady. (sternly and quietly) This is why I never make promises...
    OR
    (sarcastically) Sounds strange, but before all this I was secretly hoping we could be friends. I always thought the anomaly was doing this cause they were unhappy, and (pondering) when they got what they wanted, *slow pause* (quietly) they would stop all this. And maybe all they needed was... *shrugs shoulders and winks* I dunno, some good food, some bad laughs, some nice friends. *chuckle* But that's ridiculous, right? *scoffs* (angrily) Yeah you're the type of person who won't EVER be happy. You'll keep consuming timelines over and over, until... *eyes lower* (half serious) well. Hey. Take it from me kid. Someday... you gotta learn when to QUIT. (shouting) And that day's TODAY!! 

  • Toriel: Is something the matter, Sans?
    Sans: heh. nothing. don't worry about me, tori. i'm fine
    Toriel: Okay, but... remember that we're here to eat noodles, not be lost in our own noodle! *smirks*
    Sans: *laughs* wow. that was a good one. at this rate, i'd better learn to 'ketchup' with you and your jokes
    Toriel: *laughs* Oh, I think it would be im-pasta-ble to 'ketchup' to me now!
    Sans: (a little pouty) hey, those are my jokes. you can't use them against me!
    Toriel: Well, I just did! Make some more puns for me to steal!
    Sans: *folds his arms across his chest and closes his eyes* nope. no way, tori. you're not getting another joke outta this bonehead... *slyly smirks and opens one eye in her direction* (coyly) unless you give me some sugar
    Toriel: *blinks in surprise* What?
    (Sans then points to a small box on the table. It contains numerous little packets of sugars and sweeteners)
    Sans: the sugar, tori. could you pass me some please? this water needs it
    Toriel: (stammering) Oh! You meant--I mean, of course I knew what you meant! *feigned laugh* *she passes him two packets* Here you go *blushes a little*
    (Toriel hands him two packets of sugar as she looks at Frisk who confusingly stares at her a bit. She fidgets in her seat before collecting herself again)
    Sans: (sarcastically) ah, how sweet of you, tori!
    Toriel: (equally sarcastic) Only for the best pun-master in the Underground!
    Sans: but tori, we're not in the underground anymore!
    Toriel: *leans across the table closer to Sans* Oh, so I guess that means you aren't the pun-master anymore...
    Sans: *leans across the table closer to Toriel* hey, i still am. i've just... changed location
    Toriel: *leans closer* Oh is that so?
    Sans: *leans closer* yeah...
    Toriel: Well, it seems to me that you've turned into quite the egg since you've left the underground
    Sans: *sits back upright* huh?
    Toriel: (struggling to hold back her snickers) Because... you always crack up at your own yokes!  *laughs heartily*
    Sans: *stares for a second before laughing too* *happy tears form in his eyes* oh man, tori, that was too good!
    Toriel: Well, glad that lifted up your soul a little!
    Sans: yeah, it did. thanks
    Toriel: Anytime! I'm always here for you, you know? *places her large furry hand on his head* You are my special bone friend and you mean a lot to me!
    Sans: *blushes slightly* t-thanks. and uhh... you mean a lot tomato! *snickers*
    Sans and Toriel: *snickers then laughs uncontrollably*
