Storyboard Artist / Visual Storytelling Artist

I’m looking for one storyboard artist to work alongside me on the pilot episode of Are You Watching?, an illustrated My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic audio drama adaptation.

This role is focused on visual storytelling rather than polished final artwork. The storyboard artist will help translate the finished script into clear, expressive shots that establish composition, camera angles, character posing, reactions, scene transitions, and visual pacing.

I will also be storyboarding the episode, so this will be a collaborative role. We’ll work from the same script and visual direction, compare ideas, and refine the episode into a coherent storyboard before final artwork begins.

The pilot is intended to have frequent visual changes, so strong instincts for pacing, character expression, and readable composition are especially important. Rough sketches are completely acceptable; speed and clarity matter more than polished rendering.

Familiarity with My Little Pony characters and pony anatomy is helpful, but an exact show-style imitation is not required.

Please include examples of storyboard work, comics, sequential art, animatics, or rough character acting/posing if available. Finished illustrations are also welcome, but I’m especially interested in seeing how you communicate a scene quickly and clearly.

This project is currently in pre-production. The role is presently listed as unpaid because funding is not yet secured, though my intention is to compensate contributors if the project receives funding. Workload, deadlines, and compensation will be discussed before substantial production work begins.
