Hey! I wanted to be honest with you about your audition because I really like your performance and the way you deliver the lines. I think your voice fits the character really well, and I definitely don’t want the audio quality to overshadow that.
The only thing I noticed is that the recording sounds a little strong in places. Your gain might be a little high, and you also sound fairly close to the microphone, so those could be things worth experimenting with. Another possible factor could be the direction you’re facing the microphone. Depending on the mic, the front-facing side is usually the side with the company logo on it, so if you happen to be speaking into the wrong side, that could affect how the microphone picks up your voice.
Of course, these are just possibilities! Every microphone and recording setup is different, so there could be other factors involved too. I’d be more than happy to help you experiment with the setup and see if we can get the audio sounding a little clearer.
I just want to be upfront that I can’t guarantee that you’ll get the role, even with adjustments, but I really do like what you’re doing with the character and would love to hear another sample if you’re willing to try some changes.
If you would like to talk with me about it, I’ve sent over a friend request on Discord. I can see what I can do and we can work together for your mic :)
Yes, please! My USB mic stopped working, so I switched back to my laptop's built-in mic array. Let me try redoing the lines with proper distance from the laptop mic array.
I may have accidentally dismissed your friend request because we didn't have any mutual servers...could you resend the friend request? My discord name is junbride
Of course! Just to make sure, my username is Snake_Spirit and my display name as of now is Spirit!
