One-Off Callers (Any Gender / Age)

Signal 17 will also feature several very small one-off caller roles to make the broadcasts feel like a genuine pirate-radio station with a real local audience.

These characters can vary considerably and may include teenagers, adults, regular listeners, drunk callers, people requesting songs, people complaining about the broadcast or callers with unusual reasons for getting in touch.

These are very short roles and may consist of only one or two lines.

Possible situations for inspiration:

• You've just got home from work and want the presenter to play a particular song.

• You're drunk with your friends and have decided it would be funny to call the radio station.

• You want to dedicate a song to somebody.

• You're trying to wind up one of the regular presenters.

(These situations are only prompts for improvisation rather than a script. Feel free to interpret them however you like and create your own character, personality or reason for calling. I'm mainly interested in hearing how naturally you can make a spontaneous radio call feel.)
