"Marla" is a regular Signal 17 listener who genuinely enjoys the station and calls often enough that the presenters recognize her. She is friendly, conversational and familiar with the station's personalities.

Unlike the more suspicious callers, she helps establish that Signal 17 has a genuine local audience and a sense of community. She may later provide useful information because they remember broadcasts or have recordings of earlier shows.
