The Audio Mixing / Mastering Artist will be responsible for bringing together dialogue, sound effects, Foley, ambience, and music into a clear, balanced, and polished final mix for The Expressionists.

  • Working with the Sound Designer to ensure effects remain impactful without overpowering dialogue

  • Working with the Composer to properly balance music against dialogue and effects

  • Making revisions based on feedback from the Creator/Showrunner

  • Maintaining consistent loudness and audio quality throughout the series

  • Mastering completed mixes to appropriate delivery standards

The Expressionists will include a wide range of audio environments, from quiet conversations and subtle atmospheric scenes to large-scale fights involving multiple Expressions, destruction, music, dialogue, and environmental sound.

The Audio Mixing / Mastering Artist will be responsible for making sure these elements remain controlled and readable rather than becoming overwhelming or muddy.

Applicants should have experience or familiarity with:

  • Dialogue mixing

  • Sound effects mixing

  • Music mixing

  • EQ and compression

  • Noise reduction

  • Loudness management

  • Dynamic range control

  • Reverb and spatial audio

  • Stereo imaging

  • Automation

  • Audio mastering

  • Mixing to picture

  • Stem delivery

  • Final export preparation

Experience with Reaper, Pro Tools, Adobe Audition, DaVinci Resolve/Fairlight, FL Studio, or similar digital audio workstations is preferred.

Applicants should provide examples of previous mixing or mastering work where possible. Film scenes, animation, short films, game cinematics, dialogue-heavy scenes, or action sequences are especially useful examples.

This role will work closely with the Sound Designer / Foley Artist, Composer, Voice Cast, and Creator/Showrunner.
