David is the current leader of the Reckoners.  He and his father form an alliance between the two dimensions. When he hears about Tavi, he tries to help Prof and Tavi. He's well-meaning, energetic, but tends to rush into things. He also tends to make horrible metaphors.

That was pretty good. My only critique is that David never really stammers. He's a very confident person and nothing really gets him to do that.
