She should not sound helpless simply because she isn't a soldier. Erin understands considerably more about the facility, ONI and possibly Lexington than she initially reveals.
There should be a sense that surviving the facility has changed her.
“Those aren't simply Flood specimens. This facility was cataloguing them. Studying variations, infection patterns...everything.”
“You keep asking me what happened here. I'm trying to explain that I don't know which answer is worse.”
