Dr. Eggman

If you don't already know who Dr. Eggman is I'm gonna put his character bio in Japanese for safe keeping.

Sonic Channel:

A self-centered, self-indulgent and self-proclaimed evil genius scientist. More fond of machines than eating.

He is incredibly confident, has a huge ego, and flies into a rage at the drop of a hat.

Though he possesses an exceptionally high IQ of 300 and is an outstanding scientist, he schemes to turn the world into “Eggmanland” without regard for the trouble he causes others. He never gives up, no matter how many times he fails—a man who never learns his lesson. His plans are consistently thwarted by Sonic, and defeating Sonic is his lifelong ambition. Yet, deep down, there’s a hint that he doesn’t entirely dislike him.

For a reference of the voice I want you to imitate here's a playlist with all Sonic games in Japanese. Sonic X in Japanese is also a good reference, as well as the OVA.

Solebinku's Personal Direction:

The goal of course is to sound like Dr. Eggman in the Japanese version but you maybe questioning how to do that. The best way to describe him is a tenor/bass, he has a very mature old man voice that naturally has a growl. He's usually a guy who seems to be in control eve to a cocky manner but whenever Sonic foils his plans he has a tantrum like a child. His voice isn't super high but it also isn't super deep most English dubs get this but the Japanese just feels different, the only real change you need is to sound older around late 40's if anything or even older depending on how old you think is JP voice sounds. He does talk a little more proper with a lot of boasting to add to it. He also has two different voice actors sadly due to the passing of the original but I'd prefer if you go for the origin since I prefer him being less deep.

Just listen to the voice and study it until you think you got it. But overall have confidence but also a calmness to your take.
