vyrathax

Vyrathax is something ancient, existed before the kingdoms and gods and everything else. It views itself as not evil, just a means for all of these "unworthy" lesser beings it torments. Vyrathax thinks of mortals as inferior, broken toys it has to "fix" for its enjoyment, speaks to them in an overly patient and condescending manner as if it has heard a trillion similar whining voices before and grows bored with every single one of them. It is not angry or upset or sadistic, just unnecessarily calm and polite, as if it does not see a problem with any of it, because it does not. This being's voice should come across as unnervingly close, as if it spoke not from the distance but right in your skull. Should sound patient, almost caring, as if an adult would talk to a child or a mother to her hurting daughter. Speak slowly and in steady pace, let the pauses between important parts be as needed, let it sound as if the voice actually has time to think about what it says next. Not angry, not disappointed, not cruel. Just unnecessarily nonchalant and cold, as if it had no feelings at all, save the distant, chilling certainty of doing what it does, because it does, because it always did. Sad, almost, if one listens closely enough. Almost as if the entity in question was not evil, but rather really really wanted to help, despite the horrible, horrible, horrible amount of collateral damage it has to cause to do so.
