We are seeking a talented and experienced Head Writer to develop the full script for the original audio drama Supergirl: Legacy of Lies.

This is a character-driven superhero audio drama following Kara Zor-El (Supergirl) in the aftermath of her victory over Brainiac. Having earned her place as Earth’s definitive Supergirl, Kara faces a new challenge when a mysterious figure possessing legitimate Kryptonian powers emerges. Kara must unravel the stranger’s true identity and intentions — friend, ally, or dangerous foe — while confronting secrets that could shake the foundations of her legacy, her family, and her role as a hero.

The story emphasizes emotional depth, moral complexity, high-stakes action, and the internal journey of a young woman carrying the weight of two worlds.

Role: Head Writer The writer will be responsible for shaping the entire narrative arc, crafting a compelling, cohesive, and emotionally resonant script tailored specifically for the audio medium.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Collaborate closely with the creator to faithfully develop and expand the provided story direction into a complete audio drama.

• Write a strong, meaningful script with rich character voices, natural and dynamic dialogue, powerful emotional beats, and cinematic yet audio-friendly action sequences.

• Structure the story with clear episode arcs while maintaining an overarching narrative that builds tension, reveals secrets gradually, and delivers satisfying payoffs.

• Create detailed audio script formatting including:

  • Scene descriptions and atmosphere cues

  • Sound design / SFX suggestions

  • Pacing notes for voice performances

  • Music and transition cues

• Ensure the script honors Supergirl’s established character (hopeful, resilient, compassionate, yet vulnerable) while delivering fresh, high-quality storytelling.

• Deliver polished drafts on schedule and be open to constructive feedback and revisions.

• Maintain consistent tone: a blend of heartfelt drama, wonder, mystery, and heroic action suitable for an audio drama audience.

Requirements:

• Proven experience writing scripts (audio drama, podcast, radio play, screenplays, or narrative fiction strongly preferred).

• Strong understanding of superhero genre conventions and the ability to subvert or deepen them.

• Excellent dialogue writing skills — dialogue must feel authentic, character-specific, and emotionally impactful when performed.

• Ability to craft meaningful themes (identity, legacy, trust, belonging) without sacrificing pacing or entertainment value.

• Professional, reliable, and collaborative attitude.

• Passion for Supergirl / DC Comics lore is a big plus.
