Tateyama Ayano was a classmate and the best friend of Kisaragi Shintarou and the original founder of the Mekakushi Dan. She was member number 0 of the Dan. Albeit cheerful, she didn't believe in her abilities to put Shintarou out of his apathy. She forgets things in class a few minutes after learning them, but it is shown that she can do well if she tries her hardest. Ayano refers to herself as 'stupid', but can be seen always smiling and seemed to be having fun. Ayano cares deeply for her family and wants nothing more than for them to be happy.
