FAST TURNAROUND: Fell Swoop Animatic Musical (Prologue)
Katy P Voice (she/her) for Denaya (Acting + Singing, 30s-40s)
Denaya (Acting + Singing, 30s-40s)
I'm looking to have this role cast and recorded by 8/10, sorry about the quick turnaround! Pay is $100 USD.
Denaya Elaran and her husband Jasper are the owners of a dangerous mining operation. Denaya is someone who has compromised basically all of her morals to support the life she wants for herself and her family, and is very defensive of that. In the prologue, she sings a lullaby-like song to her young daughter to illustrate what she thinks is a necessary moral compromise.
Denaya is someone who wasn't born wealthy and married primarily for security and due to social pressures. The environment she grew up in was very socially conservative, and she still clings to those trappings like a security blanket, even if she's keenly aware of how they've made her someone she wouldn't recognize as a child.
Denaya profoundly loves her daughter, and is willing to do anything to give her the life she thinks she should have. There is nothing sinister in her love for her daughter, and the struggle her daughter will have as an adult is processing the cognitive dissonance of how loving her parents are with how many lives they're willing to destroy to prove it.
The recording session will be self-directed, I have the animatic finished so I think the best way to do it will be to treat it almost like a dub, but timing can still be adjusted by me depending on choices made.

That's kind, Cyndil, but... you know... it's Malsie's parents' responsibility to feed her.
We have what we have because we made choices. We created opportunities, and we worked VERY hard to make the best of them. Not everyone does that. But we did. We are. That food, this house, your toys, we slaved to get to the point where we could have those things, and I will NOT have you just tossing them away.
(hugging her daughter, who is about to move to the big city) We're going to miss you, and worry about you, every second. Promise me you won't forget who you are. What you mean to us.
