TYPE: Greater Machine

DATA: The global conflict had devolved into stagnant, muddy trench warfare spanning decades. To break the lines, Russia developed the first successful bipedal war machine: The Gutterman.

Built in the early days of the Final War, the Guttermen were one of the first successful experiments in using blood as a fuel source, as well as the first automatons to be deployed in wide-scale conflict.

At this point in history, technology was not advanced enough to keep stored biological blood fresh inside a machine, nor was AI capable of handling real-time bipedal navigation.

And so, the solution was monstrous. Human engineers strapped a living person (usually a prisoner of war or political dissident) into a coffin-like casket welded onto the machine's back. Kept alive by minimal, painful life support, this human served as a living central processing unit and a continuous, self-freshening blood battery.

Armed with a heavy, continuous-fire minigun and a reinforced riot shield, the Gutterman slowly trudged through the trenches, clearing out enemy soldiers with unyielding, mechanical cruelty.
