Near is a pretty quiet character, but that doesn't mean he won't have any lines. He's had some problems in the last case, so he is trying to pretend he's strong when he really isn't.
(Pretending to sound fine) "I can handle it fine. It was just something that happened; things happen to people, and they get over them. I have gotten over it."
(Happy-ish) "Of course. We were already thinking about doing something similar. I am happy we are on the same page."
"Yes, and those who aren't over the trauma of seeing and hearing about death should visit them. Or, those who are overly stressed to the point of wanting to do something irrational."
