Following his dads departure, Trunks has struggled to live up to Vegetas legacy. This inner conflict has caused him to become more or less a douche bag but he still stays friends with Goten. 

He's 15. I'd say you should go for an Eric Vale approach... but it'd be great if you did your own spin on Trunks.
(Remember, a lot of yelling involved. This being Dragon Ball and all)
