Daniel's Story (Story Number 3)
The Backstory:
Daniel was on his last day in his home country, he had been posted to go to Iraq and fight. He spent the last day with his loving wife, under the shade of a tree looking up into the sky embracing the fact that this may be the last time that they see each other. Hand in hand they talk for numerous hours about the things they're going to miss and the first thing they would do when Daniel returns.
Daniel wakes up early the next morning, careful not to awaken his sleeping wife, with a swift kiss onto the forehead he gets changed into his military fatigues and walks through the front door and to the car, to begin his work overseas.
As he drives along he looks down at his finger for a moment and removes his wedding ring, placing it into his front pocket and continues to drive.
The Story:
12 months go by, after sending letter after letter finally Daniel is coming home. He arrives at the airport expecting a welcome from his beloved wife, but nothing. He begins to become impatient and catches a taxi to his old home, his new home. As he walks out of the cab and towards the door his heart beating from anxiety, fixing himself to look presentable, he steps up to the door and takes a deep breath in, and out.
Daniel knocks on the door, His wife opens the door. Daniel stands at the front door hat in hand, and tries to say hello but words wont come out, he bows his head as tears slowly drift down his cheek. Daniel had lost his leg, he hadn't told anybody. His wife dropped to the floor in tears, as Daniel stood over her, stumbling to pick her up from the ground. Around the corner from inside the house walks a half naked man.
Daniel in total disbelief, runs down the road away from the house, his wife still sitting on the ground in tears. He tries to run faster and faster limping heavily. Until, he stumbles to the ground and just sits there looking into the sky, remembering the time before he left. He reaches into his front pocket and throws his wedding ring into the bushes.
he closes his eyes.
Daniels sits in his chair in total darkness, still wearing his military fatigues, on the table in front of him a bottle of jack Daniels and some pills, he reaches for the pills and the bottle shoving a handful into his mouth and taking a big long swig of the bottle.
The Bottle falls to the floor and smashes.

That cloud there reminded me of us, dancing on our wedding night [Soft, little chuckle] That was one the the greatest nights of my life, and even when i'm dead. I'm going to remember that night and live that night over and over again.
I don't know what i'm doing, but all my mind is telling me is to run, run far far away until you get so far you forget what you're running from.
Improvise a line based upon the description of the character, I need to hear your ability to emulate the characters emotions and be able to adapt to fit his role.
