Personality

He views himself as a gentlemen, but is in reality a True Dexit Geezer. Yorick holds the law in the highest regard as long as he and his mates are the ones enforcing it. But on the job or not, he demands respect from everyone. Extremely proud of his attitude and the stern way he treats everyone around him, eager for any chance to lay down the law. Claiming that to behave in a respectable manner, one has to be harsh and tough on others while continually growing frustrated with how the younger generation no longer seems to believe this when it's how he was raised. There's no room for funny business or tomfoolery when there's hooligans running amock,  There's plenty of room for mucking about when its time for a couple pints with the lads, though. He's stubborn, the more people try to convince him of anything, the more he argues against it. He would only follow a suggestion if it was the chiefs or his wife and those would only be begrudgingly... But he's not working or at home with the missus right now, so he doesn't have to listen to anyone.

Backstory

Yorick comes from a long and noble lineage of taxi drivers- going back to antequity. But he knew this wasn't the life for him. Ever since he was young he knew he wanted to selectively impose his standards on other people based entirely on whether he liked them or not. He admired his father, in all his stoicism. That man commanded the respect of everyone in the community, didn't take any lip either. So Yorick sought to replicate him in every way he could. Yorick wasn't one who ever struggled to fit in or get along growing up. In fact, he was able to keep in touch with all of his old mates. And when he went on to join the police academy he only made more.  Sure, upon graduating and becoming a fully fledged guy with a badge they would start taking the mick, what with him never evolving and all, but that was just a bit of harmless banter and he certainly didn't go easy on them either. They were the ones getting outmatched by a Rookidee! It was while on the job that he met the wife Susan, who loves him for some reason. They had two kids, who've since left the nest and he's been living the good life ever since. These days he does whatever police officers do in Galar. He does not plan on retiring or evolving anytime soon.

  • (Introduction Confessional) “Ello, I'm Yorick, proud officer back home in Galar. Roight, why am I here then? To prove me pissin' mates and the missus wrong! Few months ago me n' the missus found this show, had a good riot watchin'. Fast forward to the pub with me mates, they say I wouldn't last a week! Say I'd be first out, n' I tell 'em I says that there's no way on Arceus' green earth I'd be lettin' that happen! My blokes though they're sure I'm wrong, so I go back home and find the missus, and she agrees with 'em! But then she's talkin' about this plant, this Diana from a season we 'avent watched, said she was told the same then she turned 'round and won! I tell ya, it was like she was tellin' me to come win this thing! So I took her on I did, applied right away, and now here I am, out here to win it all, wheyyy!”

  • (Answering a Question at Tribal Council) “Oh well, me mates know I ain’t the type just sit back n’ let disaster run ‘round, I’m a strong mon back home, commandin’ order-type mon! Why do ye think the missus enjoys our weekly night, he he he! Seein’ the tribe, I knew if I didn’ step up, none’a the others would, so I hadda make the most of a crappy sight! We been flowin’ right since reachin’ camp, part from some good fer nothin’ lazies messin’ us up…”

  • (Voting Booth Confessional) "Get off mah tribe, ye good for nothin' piece'uh CRAP!"
