While he appears cold and unyielding, Rinaldi deeply cares about his soldiers and believes strength must be earned—not given. He is highly skeptical of experimental programs like The Hornet, and often clashes with higher command over their decisions.
Rinaldi acts as both a mentor and obstacle to AJ, pushing him to prove that he is more than just a weapon.
