Noah is a worker at J Corp who gets lured into a visit to the 8 O'Clock Circus, a phenomenon of the City that ends up luring him and his partner Noah into a show they won't soon forget. After being transformed into mockeries of themselves, they go to the Library and get booked like the other guests. Noah is pessimistic and dour, though he's a genuine friend to Emma.
For this role, I'm looking for any pitch of voice able to be on the more pessimistic side. Like Emma, I don't imagine his voice changes that much after he transforms, though he probably does become a bit more optimistic and whimsical afterwards - not too much, though!

[Complaining about a day at work.] "How could I not be upset over what boss said? I’m sick of nitpicks like that already... Think about it, though. Of all the screens, it had to be the one in the farthest corner... And it happened in the darkest nook-cranny at the edge! We can’t possibly check them all with just a measly pair of eyes..."
[Unnerved by the circus.] "Hmm… This lion’s teeth are oddly round and blunt. Maybe I mistook them for something else in the dark. I don’t really... wanna get into its belly, though... And is that a mermaid? That’s strange, I thought mermaids are usually supposed to live in the oceans or underwater..."
[Post-transformation - spotting for Emma.] "She’s right below us, buddy o’ pal. And think of me who has to hear your voice up close. I’m sure those books contain the secret to making more people happy... With that, we’ll be able to turn your cold stare into a hearty smile."
