Many moons I’d sail the open seas with the gushing waves and tides as my backdrop, it was home.

I woke up, broken, alone, in the wet sand as the chattering waves mocked my plight. I struggled to survive as my once-beloved taunted me without mercy.

Now I hear the waves even clearer than I did at sea, I hear their praise, their apologies, and their promises to protect me and this land I now call home.
