The Veil Between Second Part
Meadow Bailey for April Brooks
April is quiet, observant, and emotionally reserved, still adjusting to her new life in New Orleans after moving from New York. The separation from her old life and friends has left her withdrawn, preferring solitude over trying to fit into unfamiliar spaces. She finds comfort in stillness morning walks, quiet neighborhoods, and forgotten buildings where she can think without interruption. Though she may seem distant, April is deeply reflective and processes the world in her own way. She doesn’t open up easily, but when she does, it’s genuine and thoughtful. She’s not cold just learning how to belong again.

“I’m still getting used to everything here, so if I seem weird, that’s probably why.”
“I like walking around early when it’s quiet...it’s like the only time things feel normal.”
“I’m not ignoring people, I just… don’t always know how to jump into conversations like that.”
