ABOUT ANIMATED:

In a show that lives up to the name, Animated the Series stars a group of university students who are handpicked by their respective gods to protect the sanctity of the multiverse from rewriting their stories. In this world, these “Predecessors” must contain the barrier between dimensions to maintain social order and create living paradoxes beyond their timeline.

Sounds complicated, right? Would you believe me if I said that’s not the main theme of the story? 

Due to their handpicked nature, these characters have their lives mapped out, causing their own existential crisis on whether their proven religion is one they want to follow. Everyone, due to their powerset bestowed upon them, are conflicted on their true paths, leading them to deal with internal struggles that need to be shoved aside for everyone else’s sake.

ABOUT CARLY MAKER:

An eccentric airheaded person with a heart of gold, Carly’s upbringing was anything but. They grew up being bullied by a bunch of kids for not dressing like a girl, mainly since her parents expected a boy and couldn’t afford more clothes. While she identifies as a girl in the beginning, she soon transitions in real time to being gender fluid. Fast forward to the present, John helps her fully come to terms with the notion of being both a guy and a girl not being an issue, and that John’s perception of them wouldn’t change. If you couldn’t tell, Carly has a massive crush on John, valuing his opinion and feedback. Weather is complicated and everchanging, and being the God of the Skies Predecessor adapts her to being the same. Airheaded like the clouds, eccentric like thunder, calm like the rain and drastically fluctuating and changing like weather. With her past coming to haunt her today, she needs to better come to terms with her past and take ownership on who she wants to be…she being a he, or both, or neither, depending on how they feel.
