Amber was the third Traveller, and the most excited by the idea of living new lives and having new adventures. Until during time in a Zombie Apocalypse realm, she lost someone dear to her, someone she attached herself to. She resolved to never let it happen again, and for the next 500 lifetimes she enlisted in armies, superhero leagues, royal guards to learn how to protect people properly. However this didn't help as she watched other soldiers, allies, friends be slain while doing the same as her. She became cold, calculated, opening up only when she was certain that the people she bonded with were out of any potential harm. Her mind is a fortress, and her heart seldom cracks, but she does crack a smile whenever she feels others are safe.
(Context: A fellow soldier, and friend has been found dead after 3 years of torture) I should ha-have....I could.....If I was........(Determined) Faster. Stronger. That's what I'll be. (To fallen friend) But, I'm sorry. It won't be for you. It'll be for those I haven't lost yet.
(Context: A god-like opponent has beaten you black and bloody) Congratulations! You just beat up an 100 million year old woman with the feeble body of an 90 year old. (Mocking) I might have to actually take you seriously.
(Context: A rookie soldier has just performed their first kill) It doesn't get easier, if you grieve for them. As horrible as it sounds you need to become a monster in order to be a soldier. Learn to kill withour concern for their lives, or the feelings of those who loved them. If you can't shut down those feeling, that's ok. You can resign, I'll put in a word for you. But if you want to protect the people that YOU care for, then become a monster. Just like me.
