Masato is Hanako's father who's been out of work for the past 3 years. Having a sketchy past, he's had trouble finding a precinct that would hire him on. He's recently been hired to the local police force as a detective and is (a little too) determined to make a new start. Though he has a short temper and the tendency to be violent, he genuinely cares for his daughter and does the best he can.
