Hansel is a nonchalant person who always sports a smile, even while he is threatening someone, lying to someone, or in a dangerous situation. Because of this, it is never easy to know what he is thinking. He is also very intelligent, earning him the title "Brain of Grimm", and with his keen intellect, he can even find out what the other person is thinking/feeling. There are times where he will tease and make jokes about others, however, it is never with an ill intent. The only time he shows pain, worry, sorrow, and concern is when it involves someone is is close to, such as his little sister Gretel. 

Hansel really cares about those he considers family, and will do anything to keep them safe and happy. He looks like a harmless person, but can and will become dangerous when facing his foes. Because of his wits, he is able to handle awkward situations with ease and knows how to casually walk out of such situations. Hansel does not really care for his title the "Brain of Grimm", because he feels like he hasn't done anything to earn it, and feels as though he is the genius everyone thinks he is. All he did was work twice as hard as everyone else in order to gain enough knowledge for his personal goals, then gave the best of his ideas and strategies to King Grimm to help him. Like Red, King Grimm also took Hansel in, and as a result, Hansel has extreme loyal towards him.
