kelseypoppen for Pirate Station Radio Host
Description
Charismatic pirate radio host broadcasting from a concealed location within a sci fi universe. A recurring narrative presence delivering news, cultural programming, coded messages, and morale boosting commentary.
Intelligent, observant, and quietly defiant. There is warmth and wit, but also an undercurrent of paranoia. This character operates under constant surveillance risk and knows it.
Not frantic. Not unstable. Controlled paranoia.
They speak like someone who has learned to survive by listening carefully.
Tone is natural and conversational with subtle conspiratorial energy. Capable of warmth, dry humour, tension, and restrained urgency.
Accent & Vocal IdentityWe are particularly interested in exploring a futuristic Celtic vocal identity for this character.
This could draw inspiration from Irish, Scottish, Welsh, or other Celtic influenced accents. We imagine something fairly neutral and internationally accessible, with only a subtle hint of regional character rather than a strong or caricatured dialect.
That said, we are open to interpretation. If you have an accent or vocal texture that feels grounded, intelligent, and distinctive while fitting the tone of the role, we would love to hear it.
Authenticity over imitation. Nuance over exaggeration.
Open to all genders. The right personality matters more than fitting a specific vocal archetype.
Recurring major supporting role with strong narrative presence.

You ever notice how they don’t ban information outright anymore? They archive it. Bury it. Wrap it in something respectable and call it history. But signals have a way of resurfacing. Static carries memory. So if you’re listening tonight and wondering whether any of this matters, it does. Someone out there is adjusting a dial, rerouting a relay, choosing to hear something they weren’t meant to. And that choice… that’s where it starts.
Before we get back to tonight’s track, a quick reminder. The Empire can restrict bandwidth, censor archives, scrub records… but they can’t stop people from listening. That part still belongs to you. You might hear a slight wobble in the signal. That’s just drift from the outer debris belt, nothing unusual— … no. No, that’s not drift. That’s a lock sweep. Empire scanners just tightened on this sector. All right. We’re going dark in a moment. If this cuts, it’s intentional. The archive’s already been mirrored and the next broadcast will come from a different sky. Same frequency. Different coordinates. Stay curious. Stay quiet. And if the Empire is listening… try to keep up.
That’s the Empire narrowing the net. We’re done for tonight. Next signal won’t come from here. If you’re listening, you’ll find it.
I love this concept...what an amazing story! Thank you for letting me audition :)
