Story :  Spirits holders are not merely statues of the past. They are the architects of prophecy and weavers of paths for the dead. They study patterns, commune with ancestral echoes, and translate spiritual currents into written fate. Simon stayed up night after night, attempting to draft a new prophecy- One that would tell them what they were going to fight, how they would win; if they would win. They knew that they would not be able to last forever, clinging to the belief that if all the holders died on time all would be well. No curse is eternal. No seal is perfect. The ancient warriors bought time, not permanence. Simon saw the fracture coming years before it happened. They simply did not know who would survive it. When Ebony lived past her destined death, Simon was not shocked. But they were unprepared for the chaos that followed. They did not want her dead. They never did. The curse demanded balance, yes, but Simon has never been outwardly cruel. They are structured, disciplined, and by the book, but not heartless. Ebony was a good Duchess. A kind one. Simon respected her deeply. When fear in Night twisted into accusation, Simon worked to keep order.. Not to condemn her, but to prevent civil fracture. They believed the situation required calm analysis, not superstition.. Then she fled. And, that changed everything. With the Duchess gone, Simon was forced to take control of Night and oversee the remaining dukes and duchesses. They rule firmly, efficiently, and without theatrical displays of power. Some admire their stability. Others fear how unshakable they seem. The prophecy is breaking exactly as they predicted, but without all the gem holders present, they cannot determine the next movement of fate. Spirits magic requires convergence. Alignment. All elements accounted for.  And Ebony is one of those elements. Simon does not see her as a threat. They see her as necessary and they need her alive. They need every duke and duchess gathered if they are going to rewrite what comes next.  Because if prophecy has shifted from inevitability to possibility.. Then for the first time in generations, They are not drafting an ending. They are drafting a choice.
