"Super High School level....uhhh..."
"Sorry, for now I totally can't remember what kind of Super High School Level talent I had."
"Guess life isn't that easy..."
Pitch was too deep and sounded too old for him. You also slurred a lot which is off putting.
Well it's hard to entirely cover up a New Zealand accent with little to no voice acting experience, and I wasn't trying to mimic his official voice. Also the top comment on the reference video you linked was that he sounds like a 40-year-old man. If you want a higher or more youthful voice, I'd suggest not linking that as a reference or at least stating that fact somewhere.
The voice honestly isn't the problem, the acting is what I always focus on. Whether the clip sounds like a 40 year old man or not is irrelevant. I don't hear a 40 year old man in it. And I hear one here. The voice clips are just for reference, I'm not looking for you to base your voice off them, only use them as reference to create a voice.
All I'm really saying is that waking up to unsolicited negative feedback isn't a great start to my day. Perhaps it's something you should mention in your project's description. I understand that it's most likely with good intentions, but most of your feedback on the auditions hasn't been productive.
Personally, I disagree. I think all of it is constructive criticism, and that's just what feedback should be- if there's something that can be done better I, personally, would want to know what that is. Sure its off-putting, but it points out your flaws, and it'll ultimately allow yourself to improve.
I do understand that there's often a need for criticism, but that's not always true. They could already be aware of those things and trying to improve, and if they weren't aware of your intentions, it could seem like you're just trying to shoot them down. Nobody appreciates that. A lot of people here are also young or even just socially awkward and trying to build up self-confidence, which is a pretty difficult thing to do as it is. I'm certainly not trying to say that criticism has no place in CCC, but when you're dealing with people you've never even spoken to before, you have to be aware that they might take things a little differently to how you intended them. After all, things don't always translate perfectly through text.
