Cressa Lockhart is a girl from a farming village who had a knack for alchemy and wielding a sword, where she was from she would beat up the boys and often get bullied and shun for being a "freak", when she was old enough to enlist, she began training along side with Zxem Scarlotte, who despite his status was still expected to work his way up, she would often confront him where other would never dare, the two built a close bond, and she does all in her power serving under him as a vice captain of the Silver Wind Force
